In response to growing public concern about juvenile crime and violence more limiting curfews are being put into effect
"By reducing the number of youths on the street during certain hours, curfews are assumed to lesson the number of circumstances in which youth crime can occur. It is also assumed that curfews reduce youth crime by deterring youths from being on the streets at certain hours out of fear of being arrested"
It is hypothesized that if strict curfews are put into effect:
- communities will experience lower overall, and serious crime arrests, than jurisdictions
- will reduce adult crime trends in the long run

Curfew is okay with me. If you are out past 10 in the public and you are under 18 you are probably up to no good. you might not be doing something illegal but it probably wont turn out good
I beleive curfews are okay, I dont think the curfew should be at 10 pm, it should be more like 12 pm. I believe curfews help prevent vandalism and violence
I am not in favor of the curfew but I see where it comes from. I personally wouldn't do crime but other teens may.
I believe the teenage curfew should be changed to a later time due to the fact that it is not JUST teenagers committing crimes. The curfew should be at 12PM
I don't like the idea of a nighttime curfew very much, especially as early as 10. But I really don't like the idea of a daytime curfew. That is just too much restriction.
I think that it's a good idea to enforce curfew, because i agree that the crime rate would most likely be lowered. But i do see how kids want to be able to spend time out of the house without family. Fortunately the needs of those kids are not as important as the crimes.

I think that a curfew is good and bad. Some kids need to be be on curfew because they do some bads things at night. and many kids do drugs and get drunk at night, but some kids are perfectly fine and shouldn't be affected by the people who make bad choices.
I think that curfew is OK. I just think that the time should be changed to like 12pm.
i think that the curfew is a goo idea because it could help lower crime rates... but they should make it later... not 10pm...
Curfews are for safety, and so I think its a good thing. 10 is a reasonable time...maybe 10:30 would be better or 11, but 10 works.
I think that the curfew should be there just not that early.
Curfews are yet another limitation on adolescent freedom. its about trust and there are fews if any people that trust teenagers.
I think that teen curfew is ridiculous. However, it hads its advantages. It keeps parents knowing where their kids are because teens get sent home. I do wish that they would change the time to be later because we deserve our freedom.

I don't really have a problem with a curfew...except I think that it should be at 10:30 or 11:00pm. I don't think that it would be very fair for teens if there was a daytime curfew.
i think if ur 12 and under u shuld have to have the curfew but 13 can stay out till mid-night.
I think curfews should be taken less serouisly. People are always going to be doing bad things.
I think that crefews are okay because kids under 18 shouldn't be roaming the streets at night. If they are out late at night then they are probably going to do something bad or get in trouble.
Fresno curfew sucks. I like being out after ten. Thats when the fun starts.

The curfew doesn't sound to bad to me, it helps the community stay safe, but I do think it it should be lowered to 11:00. There are special circumstances.

i believe that there should be a curfew for kids but at a later time so kids can hang with their friends. Kids aren't the only ones committing crimes either

Curfews don't bother me too much. If your out late and your not doing anything wrong then someone will just tell you to go home.
I agree that there should be a curfew but not at ten. I think eleven would be more reasonable because its more fun to go to a movie around eight or nine and those dont get out until 10 or eleven sometimes.
I think the fresno curfews are good for kids under the age of 18 because its not safe for the kids to be out late.
